Governor Cuomo: China and the state of Oregon handed over more than 1,000 ventilators to New York

In New York State, more than 3,500 people have become victims of the coronavirus.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Saturday that the state will receive more than 1,000 ventilators from China and the state of Oregon, located in the northwestern United States. Authorities in New York continue to search for devices that are needed in the treatment of patients infected with the coronavirus.

The number of Americans infected with COVID-19 has exceeded a quarter of a million, of which more than 7,000 people have died. More than 3,500 deaths have been reported in New York State. Cuomo said the ventilators from China should arrive on Saturday.

“This is a big event, and it will have significant significance for us,” Cuomo said, adding that the state of Oregon also sent 140 vehicles to New York. Cuomo is also looking for ventilators in the state, issuing an order requiring even private hospitals in the state to transfer the devices to the most needed medical facilities.
“I want it to be over,” Cuomo said,” It’s only been 30 days since the first case of infection, and it already feels like a lifetime.”
