Google Assistant finally learned how to turn on music and playlists in the YouTube Music app

Google will close the Play Music service later this year. As a result, the company continues to improve YouTube Music with new features.

In August, Google began testing the ability to launch music and playlists on YouTube Music using the Google Assistant, and now this option is finally available to all Android smartphone users. The function also worked on smart speakers Google Home (aka Home Nest).

It’s very simple on phones. It’s enough to say “Ok Google, turn on playlist X!”, But on smart speakers, the process is a little more complicated. You must first install YouTube Music as your default music service. To do this, go to the Google Home app> Settings> Music> YouTube Music.
