Gone With the Wind not to be shown in the US due to the racial problem

The American streaming platform HBO Max removed the film “Gone with the Wind” due to racial themes amid large-scale protests in the United States due to the death of African American George Floyd, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Gone With the Wind has long been criticized for romanticizing slavery, the newspaper writes. It is noted that the film can be returned to the platform, however, it will be accompanied by notes on the “conflicting topics” contained in it.

The plot of the film is about the events of the Civil War, against which the beauty Scarlett O’Hara is trying not only to survive and rebuild her lifestyle but also to find true love. Gone With the Wind was the first full-length color picture, the film won eight Oscars and helped win the love of millions of viewers to lead actors Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable.
