Golden State Warriors centre James Wiseman was eliminated before the end of the season with a torn meniscus, insider Shams Charania reported on his Twitter page.
The 20-year-old basketball player underwent surgery in Los Angeles. The Warriors expect Wiseman to recover by the start of the 2021/2022 season. Wiseman suffered a knee injury early in the second quarter against the Houston Rockets (125: 109) on 10 April. Center landed unsuccessfully after trying to score a dunk and a blocked shot by opposing player Kenyon Martin Jr.
Wiseman was selected under the second pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. The centre played 39 matches (27 in the start), gaining 11.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 21.5 minutes. Wiseman had 51.9% of field goals and 62.8% of free throws in his first NBA season.
