Global financial markets started the new week with growth

European markets picked up the positive trend on Monday.

European markets on Monday continued the positive trend of Asian markets, reflecting investors ‘ hopes for economic recovery after the pandemic.

Britain’s FTSE rose 1 percent, France’s CAC-40 rose 0.8 percent, and Frankfurt’s DAX rose 0.9 percent.

Earlier on Monday, Japan’s Nikkei index closed up 2.2 percent, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng added 0.1 percent and the Shanghai Composite added 1.7 percent.

Australia’s S&P/ASX rose 0.8 percent, South Korea’s KOSPI rose 1.6 percent, Taiwan’s TSEC rose 1.1 percent, and Mumbai’s Sensex rose 0.2 percent.

Oil markets are down, with US crude oil trading at $ 39.90 a barrel, down 1.6 percent, and benchmark Brent crude down 1.3 percent to $ 42.64 a barrel.
