Germany expects “Nord stream -2” to be implemented

“Nord stream -2” is important for Germany’s energy policy. Germany rejects US extraterritorial sanctions and hopes to implement the project, despite the crisis. This was stated by the German Ambassador to Moscow Geza Andreas von Geir.

“Those companies that are involved in its implementation should assess for themselves how the current crisis will affect it,” he added.

Geza Andreas von Geir stressed that”Nord stream- “2 is an element of Germany’s diversified energy policy, “one of the most important sources of energy, and thus it is important for the energy security of Germany and the other European States.”

“Germany rejects the extraterritorial sanctions that were announced by the United States, including to the “Nord stream -2″ project. In this issue, Germany holds a different point of view than the United States,” the Ambassador was quoted as saying by Interfax.

Von Geir added that Germany is following with great interest the discussions that are being held among energy-producing countries on the issues of production volumes and oil prices.
“We are interested in stability in the energy market,” he said.
