German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz refused the US offer to participate in the G7 Ministerial meeting, media reports say.
The publication Der Spiegel reported, citing sources in the government of the country.
Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that she considers participation in the upcoming G7 summit in the United States to be her responsibility. She made it clear that she will not refuse the event, despite media publications about insults to her from the American President Donald Trump.
Before that, it was reported that US President Donald Trump postponed the G-7 summit from the end of June to September, while he plans to invite Russia, South Korea, Australia, and India to it.
The UK and Canada opposed Russia’s return to the G7 format.
