Gazprom estimated the launch date of “Nord Stream-2”

The “Nord stream-2” gas pipeline is planned to be launched in late 2020-early 2021. This was announced by the head of the company’s investor relations Department Anton Demchenko during a teleconference.

“I can briefly confirm that we are continuing to work on this project and expect that its construction will be completed in late 2020-early 2021,” Demchenko said.

The representative of the company also said that he could not talk much about the project because of the pressure under which the construction of the gas pipeline is under. Recall that in mid-December, the United States imposed additional sanctions on the “Nord stream-2.” In Germany, deputies decided to protect the gas pipeline. German politicians believe that the penalties are an infringement on German sovereignty. Ordinary citizens of the country also support the construction of the gas pipeline.

German media reports that the construction of the “Nord stream-2” will not be affected by the sanctions. At the same time, the US plans to expand restrictive measures. The Republican Party has delivered a report to the country’s Congress, suggesting stricter sanctions against Russia, Iran, and China.
