Gazprom announced various scenarios for the completion of “Nord stream-2”

Gazprom announced the stages of construction of the “Nord stream-2” gas pipeline.

The published quarterly report notes that the Nord Stream 2 AG project operator is currently working on various scenarios for its completion.

“Work on the land site in Germany has been completed, and in Russia it is at the stage of completion,” the report says.

“Nord stream-2” involves constructing two main lines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the Russian coast through the Baltic Sea to Germany.

The pipeline is actively opposed by the United States, which promotes its liquefied natural gas to Europe. In December 2019, Washington imposed sanctions on the project, requiring companies to stop its construction immediately. Swiss Allseas then almost immediately announced the suspension of work.
