Gael Monfils withdraws from Masters in Monte Carlo due to injury

French tennis player Gael Monfils has withdrawn from the Monte Carlo Masters with a calf injury. He announced this on his official Twitter page.

“Unfortunately, I have to refuse to participate in the Masters in Monte Carlo. For the past ten days, I continue to feel a little pain in my lower calf, and yesterday during my last workout. It only got worse. I have already done an ultrasound, which confirmed the presence of damage. Therefore, I have to postpone my return. However, I remain optimistic for the rest of the season. Starting today, I will start treatment in the hope of returning as soon as possible, ” wrote Monfils.

The tournament in Monte Carlo starts today, April 11, and will last until the 18th.
