French baguette proposed to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List

France intends to include the UNESCO World Heritage List baguette, the country’s Minister of Culture Roseline Bachelot told the Parisien newspaper.

“The baguette is a living part of our heritage! Alive but fragile because it is based on the craftsmen’s exceptional experience and commitment to this beautiful but complex work. Baguette is a noble and deceptively simple product … This product unites us, and therefore I chose him, “ Bachelot said.

According to the newspaper, the Ministry of Culture must submit a nomination to UNESCO by 31 March. The organization will announce the decision no earlier than autumn 2022.
