Francis Ford Coppola to re-release “The Godfather Part III”

Francis Ford Coppola announced that he is working on a new version of “The Godfather Part III,” which, in his opinion, will be a “more appropriate conclusion” to the trilogy.

The picture will be called “The Godfather of Mario Puzo. Coda: The Death Of Michael Corleone.”

Coppola himself, who has long wanted to remake the third part, explained that he likes this option more, and it is more in line with their vision with Mario Puzo. “The Godfather Part III” was released in 1990 during the writer’s lifetime and was created based on his script.

“For this version of the finale, I made a new beginning and end, rearranged some scenes, frames, and tracks. With these changes and after the restoration of the video and sound, this version seems to me the optimal ending for “The GodFather” and “The Godfather Part II,” – he said, expressing gratitude to the Studio Paramount, which allowed him to re-release the film.

The third part received moderate reviews from viewers and critics, in contrast to the first two, which are considered one of the best films of American cinema. However, it received seven Oscar nominations, including Best Film and Best Director.

It is expected that the new “Godfather Part III” will be released in a limited box office in December, to mark the 30th anniversary of the release of the previous version, and then appear on digital platforms.
