Formula 1 leadership is considering the possibility of canceling the Hungarian Grand Prix, GrandPX.news reports. Championship managers can take such a step in connection with severe restrictions dictated by the rules of quarantine in this country. Violation of the rules established in Hungary can result in huge fines or even imprisonment.
If the stage in Hungary is canceled, most likely, Formula 1 will hold the third consecutive stage in Austria.
“Chase Carey asked me to find out what the pilots think about a possible third race at the Red Bull Ring. I told him that if this is the only suitable track for racing, we can conduct even ten stages here. So maybe we will respond quickly. All the necessary equipment is already here. Let’s see what happens the next day. Perhaps we will return to the Red Bull Ring in a week, “said Alex Wurz, head of the Grand Prix Riders Association.
