Portuguese Portimão will host the Formula 1 Championship stage in the 2021 season, according to the F1 official website.
The Portuguese Grand Prix will take place from April 30 to May 2. Last year, Portugal hosted the first Grand Prix since 1996, with British Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton winning the Algarve race.
“We are delighted to announce that the Formula 1 race will again take place in Portimão after the tremendous success last year,” said Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali. “We would like to thank the promoter and the Portuguese government for their hard work and dedication. We look forward to welcoming fans back to Portimão this season and are working with the promoter on this plan’s details. “
The 2021 Formula 1 season kicks off with winter tests that will take place in Bahrain on March 12-14. The first stage will take place at the Sakhir circuit in Bahrain on March 26-28.
