Former President Jimmy Carter hospitalized

He will undergo a procedure to reduce pressure on the brain after recent falls.

Former US President Jimmy Carter was hospitalized in Atlanta to address “intracranial pressure” caused by bleeding due to recent falls. The Carter Center reported.

Carter, 95, the nation’s oldest living former President, was taken to Emory University hospital about three weeks after collapsing at his home in Plains, Georgia.

He was released from the hospital a few days after the incident.

The procedure to relieve pressure on the brain is scheduled for Tuesday morning, the Carter center said, noting that the former President is “resting in a comfortable environment” in the presence of his wife, 92-year-old Rosalyn Carter.
