Forbes named the richest woman in the world

Forbes magazine named the heir to the cosmetic Empire L’oreal Françoise Betancourt-Myers the richest woman in the world. Her family owns 33% of the cosmetic giant.

The wealth of Francoise Bettancourt-Myers magazine estimated at $ 49.3 billion. As the publication notes, in the list of the richest people in the world she located on the 14th place. Over the past year, the state of Françoise Bettancourt-Myers increased by 17%, or $ 7.1 billion.

Previously, the richest woman in the world Forbes called mother Francoise and daughter of the founder of the company L’oreal Eugene Schueller — Lillian Bettancourt. In the list of the richest people in the world, she first came in 1987, when Forbes began to publish their ratings.

Lillian died in September 2017 at the age of 94 years. She left the Board of Directors of L’oreal even earlier, in 2012, after 17 years in office, as the court found her unable to dispose of their own property due to dementia.

Francoise Bettancourt played a key role in this case: it was her claim that the court found Lillian incapacitated. The daughter’s statement said that her mother’s fortune was used to give the writer and photographer François-Marie Banier € 1 billion in cash and gifts.

The magazine will publish the full rating of the richest people on March 5. The magazine only said that in the first place is the founder and CEO of Amazon Jeff Bezos with a fortune of $ 131 billion, which is $ 19 billion more than a year earlier.
