Forbes named the highest-paid writers of the year

J. K. Rowling took the first place.

The American magazine Forbes has compiled a list of the highest-paid writers of 2019. The first place in the ranking, published on the website of the publication, took the author of a series of books about Harry Potter JK Rowling.

It is noted that last year the writer earned 92 million dollars. At the same time, the main source of its income is no longer the sales of books. The main funds Rowling receives through theatrical performances and theme parks dedicated to Harry Potter.

In second place is James Patterson, who earned $ 80 million last year. Rounding out the top three is former First lady Michelle Obama, whose memoir “Becoming. My story” has sold over 10 million copies in various formats.

Jeff Kinney ($20 million) and Stephen King ($17 million) also made the top five highest-paid writers of 2019.
