Fingerprint scanner Samsung Galaxy S10 cheated using a 3D printer

Smartphone manufacturers are actively implementing various technologies to protect devices, but the most common is the technology of recognizing the owner by fingerprint.

Previously, researchers and fans were able to deceive the fingerprint sensors of various smartphones, and now this list is supplemented by the new flagship device Samsung Galaxy S10, in which the fingerprint scanner is built into the display, writes The Verge.

A user of the website Imgur under the name darkshark told and showed, how he managed to bypass the security of the smartphone. To do this, he took a picture of his fingerprint on a wine glass, processed the picture in Photoshop, and then on the third attempt to print it on a 3D printer. The resulting copy of the print was good enough to fool the scanner. The whole process took about 13 minutes.

I attempted to fool the new Samsung Galaxy S10's ultrasonic fingerprint scanner by using 3d printing. I succeeded.
