Film “Cherry” with Tom Holland to be shown on Apple’s stream service

According to Deadline, Apple has acquired the exclusive rights to show the film Cherry, which is scheduled to release in early 2021. This is a crime drama that will surely interest the public with the fact that Tom Holland will play the main role in it, while Anthony and Joe Russo, known as one of the main architects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will act as directors. According to the source, Cherry promises to be an ambitious project that will target the most prestigious awards, including the Academy Awards.

Cherry will be based on the biographical novel of the same name by Nico Walker, published in 2018. The book tells about a young military doctor who returns from the Iraqi war in a terrible mental state. Suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, the former military man finds solace in drugs and starts robbing banks.

In addition to Holland, Cherry will star Ciara Bravo, Jack Raynor, Thomas Lennon, Kelly Berglund, and Adam Long. The adapted script was written by Jessica Goldberg and Angela Russo. The movie will be released on AppleTV + streaming service.
