Facebook announced a ban on Taliban-related content

Facebook has banned the posting of content related to the support of the Taliban movement on social networks Facebook and Instagram and in the WhatsApp messenger. This was reported to CNBC by a representative of the company.

The Taliban is under sanctions as a terrorist organization in accordance with U.S. law; we have banned them (from using our services) in accordance with our policy against dangerous organizations,” the agency quotes a Facebook representative.

It is noted that a special group has been created in the company whose duties include monitoring and removing, if necessary, posts, illustrations, and video materials. She is supported by experts on Afghanistan, native speakers of Dari and Pashto languages.

It is assumed that Facebook employees will delete accounts belonging to the Taliban and their supporters and those profiles where statements in support of the movement are published.
