Ex – sheriff’s deputy arrested in Texas in connection with the deaths of three people

A 20-hour search preceded Stephen Nicholas Broderick’s arrest.

A former Texas sheriff’s deputy wanted in connection with the deaths of three people has been arrested after a 20-hour search.

Stephen Nicholas Broderick, 41, was arrested on Monday night after sheriff’s deputies tracked him down following two 911 calls.

Callers reported a man walking along a road in the Austin suburbs-about 32 kilometers from where the weekend attack took place.

Broderick was taken into custody without any problems.

“It breaks my heart that a former Travis County Sheriff’s deputy is a suspect in such a horrific incident,” Sheriff Sally Hernandez said in a statement.

The shooting occurred around noon on Sunday in an apartment complex near the popular Arboretum shopping center.
