Erdogan re-imposed curfew in Turkey due to coronavirus

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced another curfew in Turkey in connection with the coronavirus pandemic – for the period of celebration of the end of Ramadan from 23 to 26 May.

Previously, 31 provinces of Turkey, including Ankara, Istanbul, and Antalya, imposed curfews on April 11-12, 18-19, 23-26, 1-3, 9-10, and 16-19.

“From 23 to 26 may, a curfew will be declared in all 81 provinces. From May 29, we will partially open mosques for some collective prayers and subject to sanitary measures, while the rest of the prayers will continue individually,” Erdogan said in a televised address to the nation.
