Back in early July, a group of enthusiasts installed the Windows 11 operating system on the flagship smartphone of the 2018 Xiaomi Mi 8. After a month and a half, they improved the OS.
After installing Windows 11, the touch display and USB-C port on the phone stopped working. But during this time, specialists were able to eliminate many problems. Specifically, they added GPU support, integrated power management, and tweaked the Wi-Fi wireless dongle.
The enthusiasts do not plan to give up everything yet. On the contrary, they will continue development and will fix the problem with the Bluetooth driver and the display of x64 programs soon.
Note that many smartphones of the 2018 release, which are equipped with a 10nm Snapdragon 845 processor, have support for Windows 11. So, in addition to Xiaomi Mi 8, you can install the operating system, for example, on Meizu 16, OnePlus 6, Xiaomi M Mix 3, Pocophone F1, and Samsung Galaxy S9.
