Elon Musk criticized Bill Gates for buying a Porsche Taycan

The head of the American company Tesla, Elon Musk, reacted to the purchase of a sports electric car Porsche Taycan by the founder of Microsoft Bill Gates.

Geist announced his purchase in an interview with blogger Marquez Brownley released last week. I just got a Porsche Taycan – it’s a premium model, but it’s a very, very cool electric car, “he said.

Gates also drew attention to the high price (from $185,000) and the fact that it takes longer to charge electric vehicles than to refuel vehicles with internal combustion engines.

In turn, Musk, answering Twitter questions from subscribers about why the billionaire did not buy a Tesla electric car, said: “My conversations with Gates have been underwhelming tbh(to be honest)”.

According to Geist, voiced in an interview, electric cars will still lag behind sales of gasoline cars. However, the new electric models gave hope that environmentally-friendly vehicles are becoming more affordable. He added that the company that helped make the difference is Tesla.

The Bloomberg agency said that Musk is not the first time criticizing other billionaires. In 2017, he criticized Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, questioning his understanding of the risks of artificial intelligence. In 2019, he called Jeff Bezos a copycat, after which the latter began work on a satellite project that could compete with the SpaceX Musk program.
