Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry will not be able to use the Sussex Royal brand. After long and difficult negotiations, the Queen and senior British officials made this decision, writes the Daily Mail.
Harry and Meghan spent tens of thousands of pounds on the new Sussex Royal website to build on the success of their hugely popular Instagram feed (11.2 million followers). They also sought to register Sussex Royal as a global trademark for some items and activities, including clothing, stationery, books, and educational materials. They have taken steps to create a new charity under this name.
But, according to the Daily Mail, Elizabeth II resisted Harry and Meghan’s plans to earn Royal status. Now it became clear that they would have to “rebrand.” It is assumed that it will be a serious blow to the spouses, who will be forced to start over and re-register everything.
