Eddie Murphy volunteered to host the Oscar Academy Awards ceremony

American comedian and actor Eddie Murphy said that he would be happy to host one of the Oscars, but not this year. The artist spoke about this during the show “Tamron Hall Show”.

So, according to Murphy, the coronavirus pandemic stops him from participating in the Oscars this year, as he worries about his health and from the very beginning of isolation is at home, without leaving it.

“Oh, maybe – not this year – but maybe one day, yes. Who knows? I would like to … You know, it is a great honour for me to do this, and I would love to hold the ceremony one day, ” the actor said.

Previously, Eddie Murphy was already offered to host the main American film award. In 2011, he withdrew from the Oscars, as his friend and collaborator Brett Ratner stepped down as the show’s producer after criticism for controversial remarks. Since then, as far as the media knows, the famous comedian has not received such proposals.

The Oscars will be presented on April 26, while the nominees will be announced on March 15. The awards ceremony was originally planned to be held on February 28, but the organizers announced the postponement due to the coronavirus pandemic. Another change for the upcoming Oscars has to do with movies released on streaming services. Due to the small number of films, the organizers decided to include such films in the nomination, which did not happen until this year.
