Durant will miss the NBA All-Star Game due to injury

Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant will miss the NBA All-Star Game due to injury, according to the club’s official Twitter account.

The NBA All-Star Game will take place on March 7 in Atlanta. Durant suffered a hamstring injury in mid-February.

He was expected to miss the regular-season games with the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns on February 15 and 16. Still, an in-depth medical examination on Friday showed that the 32-year-old basketball player would take longer to recover. It is also reported that Durant’s condition will be re-assessed after the All-Star break.

Durant was previously selected to captain the Eastern Conference team at the All-Star Game. According to ESPN journalist Adrian Voinarovski, the Nets forward will be replaced by the Indiana Pacers’ Lithuanian centre Domantas Sabonis on his Twitter account.

Durant has averaged 29 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 19 games this season.

Earlier it became known that Los Angeles Lakers centre Anthony Davis will miss the All-Star Game due to injury. Instead, Phoenix defender Devin Booker was called in.
