Dozens of US Secret Service employees fall ill with COVID-19

According to the Washington Post, employees link the infection to President Trump’s campaign tours.

According to the Washington Post, more than 130 employees of the US Secret Service, in particular, responsible for protecting the country’s top leadership, were infected with a coronavirus infection or were in close contact with infected colleagues.

Sources of the publication on anonymity condition said that this outbreak resulted from large-scale campaign rallies of Trump and his trips around the country. Dozens of Secret Service employees were involved in each of the events to ensure the President’s security.

As a result, about 10% of these special service employees were ordered to go to quarantine.

Recall that during the election campaign, it became known that several employees of the White House staff, as well as Donald Trump himself, fell ill with COVID-19.

The US Secret Service declined to comment on the situation.
