Donald and Melania Trump arrived in El Paso

The presidential couple met with the victims during the shooting at Walmart Department store.

In the Texas City of El Paso, located on the border with Mexico, President Trump and his wife Melania on Wednesday afternoon visited the University medical center, where there are people injured during the shooting at the Walmart supermarket.

In El Paso, the President and the First lady also met with police and emergency workers at the emergency center. Trump thanked them for the prompt reaction to the shooting that occurred in El Paso on Saturday and led to the death of 22 people. The meeting was attended by a soldier Glendon Oakley Jr. – private first class, who saved several children during the shooting at the Walmart supermarket. Trump shook his hand and thanked him for his courage.

Before flying back to the capital, President Trump tweeted:

“Leaving El Paso for the White House. What GREAT people I met there and in Dayton, Ohio. The Fake News worked overtime trying to disparage me and the two trips, but it just didn’t work. The love, respect & enthusiasm were there for all to see. They have been through so much. Sad”!

In Texas, the presidential couple arrived from Dayton, Ohio, where there was also a mass shooting. There, the President visited the Miami valley hospital, where the victims of the recent tragedy are being treated. Along the way, the presidential motorcade was met by groups of protesters and those who expressed support for the President.

President and First lady Melania Trump spent about an hour in the hospital.
