Diego Maradona dies at the age of 60

Footballer Diego Maradona died at the age of 60 after a heart attack, according to the Argentinean edition Clarin. Athlete’s agent Mathias Morla confirmed this information to EFE.

In early November, Diego Maradona was hospitalized for medical examination; later it became known that he was diagnosed with a subdural hematoma. Doctors performed brain surgery on the football player. On November 12 he was discharged from the hospital. The doctors called the operation normal and noted that the player was conscious.

According to the newspaper Ole, he felt bad at home, where he was recovering from surgery. Despite the efforts of doctors, the football player died of cardiac arrest.

Diego Maradona is one of the best footballers of the 20th century. He was the winner of the Italian Championship and Cup, the Spanish Cup and the UEFA Cup. He played 113 matches for Argentina and scored 50 goals. In 1986, as part of the national team, he became the world champion in football.
