Diablo IV lost development lead and lead level designer

Diablo IV Director Luis Barriga, Lead Level Designer Jesse McCree and World of Warcraft Senior Game Designer Jonathan LeCraft are no longer employed by Blizzard Entertainment.

The reshuffle in the company, with reference to two informants, was reported by the Kotaku portal, in a statement which a few hours after the publication of the change was confirmed by an unnamed representative of Activision Blizzard.

“We have a long list of talented developers and new leaders have already been appointed where necessary. We are confident in our ability to continue to evolve, deliver amazing experiences to our players, and strive for a safe, productive work environment for all, ”announced Activision Blizzard.

According to Kotaku informants, Activision Blizzard informed the company’s employees about the departure of the developers, but did not name the reason for parting with them. The case is believed to be a high-profile lawsuit due to harassment and discrimination against women.

Recall that last week in connection with the ongoing scandal, J. Allen Brack, the president of Blizzard Entertainment since 2018, resigned without warning.

Earlier, World of Warcraft Senior Game Designer Jeff Hamilton also said that due to the proceedings within Blizzard Entertainment, work on the cult MMORPG has practically stopped.

As for Diablo IV, it has no release date yet. In an interview with PCGamesN in July, Artistic Director John Mueller said the action RPG will be as inclusive as possible.
