In the Greek capital, a protest was held against the death of George Floyd in the United States.

Demonstrators threw firebombs towards the US Embassy in Athens during a protest against the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Reuters reporters witnessed demonstrators throw several burning objects in the street towards the heavily guarded Embassy in Central Athens. In response, the police fired tear gas.

The Embassy itself was cordoned off by rows of blue police buses.
According to police sources, more than 3,000 people took part in the demonstration.
