Democrats called on Republicans to develop a new bill on coronavirus

Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi noted the lack of funds for testing on a national scale.

Democratic leaders in Congress on Monday urged Republicans to draft a new bipartisan coronavirus bill, noting a lack of funds for testing on a national scale that is needed to restart the economy.

“The country is facing real problems, and it’s time for Republicans to stop making political maneuvers and proposing bills that won’t get support in either house and start working with us to find a solution,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said in a joint statement.
