De Gea: ‘I apologize for breaking Schmeichel record’

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea commented on his achievement, set in the away match of the 34th round of the English Premier League with Aston Villa (3-0).

The Spaniard became the champion in the number of matches held for the “red devils” among foreigners (399), surpassing the figure of the legendary goalkeeper of the club Peter Schmeichel (398).

“I apologize to Schmeichel. It’s great. This means that I have been playing here for a long time and doing it very well. Very proud. I’m glad that I spent so many matches at this club. I hope to take part in 400 more meetings for United! I am very happy!” – press service of the “Red Devils” quotes David de Gea on the club’s official website.

David has been playing for Manchester United since 2011.
