Congress postponed the discussion of the US budget to the next year.

Both houses of Congress on Thursday did not take any steps to solve the problem with the partial suspension of the Federal government. The US lawmakers have not yet adopted the country’s budget for fiscal year 2019. The main reason is the differences between Democrats and Republicans over the construction of the wall on the border with Mexico.

We will remind, the President of the United States Donald Trump had previously refused to sign the budget if it is not the lines about the allocation of nearly 6 billions dollars for the protection of the southern borders of the state. The head of the White House emphasizes that we are talking about the security of the country. In turn, the leader of the Democrats in the Senate Chuck Schumer said that his party will block any resolution providing for the financing of the wall. It was expected that on December 22 at an extraordinary meeting of the legislators will come to a compromise and adopt a document extending the allocation of money to the government, but this did not happen.

“The Senate will meet next time on January 2 at 16:00,” Republican Senator Pat Roberts said. The White House once again blamed the situation on the Democrats. “They decided to go home,” the US administration said in a statement.
