Game Boy fan Shouta has announced the start of the 2019 collection. He decided to collect all the official games released in Japan for this console – we were talking about 1,244 games, in some countries there were fewer of them.
“I’ve always loved the Game Boy, and I had several games that I bought to play,” Shouta explained his motivation. – “Then I decided to collect the entire collection.”
Collecting them, Shouta tweeted about his progress, and his followers helped him keep track of the games he was missing. “If it wasn’t for Twitter, it would have taken me at least five years.” The blogger has already stated that he played all the games that he collected.

It is not cheap to create such a collection, but the collector does not know how much he invested in buying the games. “I haven’t calculated how much I have spent, so I don’t know,” he said. The rarest game he owns is Jaguar Sewing Machine Embroidery-Only Software: Mario Family, a game that was used in conjunction with a JN-100 Jaguar sewing machine to which a Nintendo handheld console was connected. The sewing machine can copy any of the 32 Nintendo-themed patterns included in this game.
Copies of this cartridge alone cost 50,000 yen (384 euros) in Japan, and those that come with the box and instructions for use can be obtained for 100,000 yen (768 euros).
