Coachella music festival canceled in the USA

The Riverside County Department of Health in California canceled the American Coachella music festival in 2020 in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, the agency said.

Earlier in March this year, the organizers postponed the Coachella festival, which was supposed to be held in April, to October due to concerns about the spread of coronavirus. The event was supposed to take place on October 9, 10, 11, and on October 16, 17, 18, 2020.

“The decree was issued based on concerns about the re-outbreak of COVID-19 in the fall both in Riverside County and around the world, scientific evidence … and best practices are now known to protect the public from the risk of spread or exposure to COVID-19,” the decree says.

In addition to Coachella, Riverside County authorities also canceled the annual Stagecoach Country Music Festival.
