China to allocate $ 50 million to the UN to fight COVID-19

China will provide the UN with an additional $ 50 million to fight the effects of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, Chinese President XI Jinping said in a video message at a high-level meeting to mark the 75th anniversary of the UN.

“China will allocate another $ 50 million to the UN’s global humanitarian response plan for COVID-19,” XI said.

He added that China would fulfill its promise to allocate $ 2 billion over the next two years for international cooperation in agriculture, poverty reduction, education, and support countries in restoring socio-economic development.
