China has put two communications satellites into orbit

China has successfully put two communication satellites into orbit for its Internet of Things (IoT) project, China Central Television reported.

The launch was carried out on Tuesday 9.16 from the Jiuquan cosmodrome in the North-West of the country using a Kuaizhou-1A launch vehicle.

According to the plans, the launched satellites of the Xiongyun-2 series will be used for testing communication technologies in the field of the Internet of things, as well as interstellar laser communication technologies.
