The Chinese government has extended the decision to suspend the recovery of increased tariffs on imports of American cars and components, the Global Times reported, citing the Ministry of Finance of China.
According to the publication, this decision is intended to create “positive conditions” for trade negotiations between the two countries.
Since January 1, China has suspended additional duties on imports of cars and spare parts from the United States. The decision was introduced for a period of three months.
In March, the US Secretary of state Mike Pompeo expressed hope that Washington and Beijing will soon draw up a new trade agreement.
