Check out new images of Mars from China’s Tianwen 1 probe

The Chinese automatic interplanetary station “Tianwen-1” showed new black-and-white and color images from the orbit of Mars.

The device has sent three pictures: two of them are black and white, one is color. The pictures were taken from an altitude of 330 to 350 kilometers above the planet’s surface. They show craters, ridges and other details on Mars.

The probe will stay in orbit for about three months. After that, it will be landed on the surface in the southern part of the planet to launch the rover. The name of the latter has not yet been announced.

The color image shows the planet’s northern polar circle.

Recall that China in July last year successfully launched a probe for the exploration of Mars “Tianwen-1”. The mission reached Mars as planned in February 2021, and is expected to descend to the surface in May.

The probe will awaken the planet for another three months.
