Canada suspends military mission in Ukraine over COVID outbreak

Canada has suspended a military training mission in Ukraine due to a serious coronavirus outbreak among the military, CBC reports, citing the Canadian Ministry of Defense.

The number of military instructors who fell ill with the coronavirus is not specified. All of them are now isolated.

On April 13, 2014, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine decided to conduct an “anti-terrorist operation” (ATO) in the Donbas with the involvement of the armed forces.

Four years later, Kyiv changed the format of the military operation to the “Operation of the United Forces.”
