Bundestag deputies voted to support Nord stream-2

The Bundestag deputies decided by a majority vote to ensure energy security and support “Nord stream-2.” This position was also recommended by the German economic and energy Committee. This is reported by the press service of the German Parliament.

The pipeline proposal was supported by representatives of all factions except the Greens. Claudia Roth, who chairs the Bundestag’s plenary session, said that 556 deputies voted for the initiative. 83 people voted against, and one abstained.

Earlier, the head of the Bundestag Committee on economy and energy, Klaus Ernst, said that the US actions against “Nord stream-2” resemble the mafia methods. He also noted that with the arrival of a new American leader, Washington’s policy is unlikely to change.
