Hollywood star Brad Pitt became the hero of the news as a winemaker – he presented to the public the new rosé champagne of his brand. The actor is far from the only celebrity who makes money on alcohol.
Brad Pitt presented to the public a new alcoholic drink of his brand – Fleur de Miraval rosé champagne costing $ 390 per bottle. A limited number of bottles of wine, which the Daily Mail reports have been aged for three years, will hit US store shelves Oct.15.
This, however, does not mean that a new name has appeared among the winemakers. Castle Miraval in the south of France Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie acquired back in 2011 for $ 31 million, in 2014 they played a wedding there, and in 2015 Brad Pitt teamed up with local winemaker Marc Perrand and grape producer Rodolphe Peters to create wines under the Miraval brand. Now, despite rumors that the split couple wants to sell the land, the castle is still used by Brad Pitt – not only can he sometimes be seen there working in the fields, recently there were reports in the media that he invited him to visit there. 27-year-old model Nicole Poturalski.
Brad Pitt is not the only famous show business figure who makes money from the production of alcoholic beverages: many Hollywood stars choose this type of activity as an additional source of income.
This year, Cameron Diaz, star of Charlie’s Angels, admitted that she’s done with her acting career. “I just decided that I needed other things in life”, she said in an early August interview on Gwyneth Paltrow. “I worked so hard for so long, making films – it’s so exhausting. I just didn’t have any space for my personal life”.
Now Cameron Diaz is a co-owner of the organic wine brand Avaline, which she launched with her friend, the founder of the fashion site Catherine Power. Women produce white and rosé wines – the media reported this in early August this year. As Cameron Diaz told Travel & Leisure, the idea to launch an organic alcoholic beverage came to their mind when they found it difficult to find wine from organic products.
Rose wine from grapes grown on the French Riviera is now also produced by rapper Post Malone – the launch of production under the Maison # 9 brand was announced in the summer of 2020, according to The Insider, the musician is producing an alcoholic drink in collaboration with James Morrissey, a music manager from London.
Not only rosé wine, however, is produced by the stars – some of them also sell stronger drinks. So, actress Kate Hudson owns a brand that produces gluten-free vodka, it is made from ionized water and refined seven times. True, the lack of gluten in it is rather a marketing ploy, but for the residents of Santa Barbara, where this drink is made, this may be important.
Last October, actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson announced the launch of his own “handmade” tequila production – he admitted on Instagram that he had spent several years working on the project. But Ryan Reynolds chose gin for “his” drink, which has been produced in Portland since 2018 – and the Fortune publication reported that the actor is actively involved in the work of the company. However, he recently sold the production to Diageo, which had bought a tequila brand two years earlier, co-owned by George Clooney.
