WASHINGTON – The United States will continue to put pressure on Venezuela, while the President of a Latin American country, Nicolas Maduro will not step down.
The assistant to the US President for national security John Bolton stated, commenting on the new Washington sanctions against Caracas.
“Today, the US Treasury imposed sanctions against four representatives of Maduro intelligence services, the Main Directorate of military counterintelligence, who ruthlessly tortured, suppressed and intimidated the people of Venezuela. The US will not rest until the despot Maduro leaves, and the corrupt will not stop the abuse against Venezuelans,” Bolton wrote on his Twitter page.
On Friday, the US Treasury Department reported that it had imposed sanctions on four officials from the Main Directorate of military counterintelligence of the Bolivarian Republic. The Agency noted that Washington will continue to impose sanctions against the government of Maduro.
