Trump in early November, told reporters that he would decide on the candidacy of the new US Ambassador to the UN by the end of the year. Haley, occupying the post from January 2017, announced on 9 October about his resignation. She is expected to leave office in January 2019. To become a US Ambassador to the UN, a candidate must first obtain the approval of senators.
