Blinken called Germany the best friend of the United States

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called Germany the best friend of the United States in the world.

“The United States has no better partner, no better friend in the world, than Germany,” Blinken said at a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Blinken said that, among other things, plans to discuss with the head of Germany, Russia, and China.

He stressed that US President Joe Biden is looking forward to Merkel’s visit to Washington next month.

Earlier, the White House and then the German cabinet said that Biden will receive Merkel in Washington on July 15; the parties will discuss COVID, climate, economy, and international security.
