Bitcoin price exceeded $50,000 for the first time since early May

From mid-July 2021, cryptocurrencies began to rise in price. As always, the market is being pulled by Bitcoin, the value of which has reached $ 50,000 for the first time since the beginning of May this year.

On the morning of May 11, the price of the main cryptocurrency was $ 56,700. A day later, it fell by more than $ 7,000 and after that never rose above $ 50,000. Only on August 20, the Bitcoin rate came close to the psychological mark.

On August 23 at 05:00 the price of the digital currency was $ 50,115. Over the past week, the rate has grown by almost 6%. Following it, Bitcoin drags up other cryptocurrencies. In particular, the cost of Ethereum has risen to $ 3 354. This is the maximum since mid-May this year.

The largest weekly growth among the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization was shown by Terra ($ 29.07 / + 34.95%), Cardano ($ 2.8 / + 29.80%), Solana ($ 73.88 / +17, 54%) and Polkadot ($ 28.15 / 15.66%). We also note that the digital currency Avalanche, which ranks 22nd in terms of capitalization, has risen in price by 155% over the week and costs about $ 50.
