BioNTech told how long their vaccine will protect against COVID-19

Ugur Sahin, head of German engineering company Biotech, expects the vaccine, developed jointly with us pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, to protect patients from the coronavirus for at least one year.

“I personally expect that the vaccine will be able to protect us… for at least one year. If we find out that we need to re-vaccinate, we can do it in a year,” Shaheen said on Fox News.

BioNTech announced on November 9 that the vaccine it developed with Pfizer showed more than 90 percent effectiveness in preventing COVID-19 infection during trials, and an application for registration of the vaccine in the United States can be submitted as early as November.
