Biden’s administration will not lift sanctions from Huawei

Joe Biden has been in power for more than six months, but this has not brought any advantages for Huawei. Although it was assumed that the departure of the Trump administration promises the giant from China, at least, a softening of sanctions, if not a complete exit from them.

Insiders recently reported that Huawei and US companies were negotiating hundreds of billions of dollars worth of electronic components for vehicles. For this, the Joe Biden administration was heavily criticized. Against this background, rumors about the easing of sanctions immediately appeared. But in reality, there is nothing to be happy about.

Sanctions against Huawei were introduced in the spring of 2019. The Donald Trump administration approved the supply of goods for $ 87 billion, while banning the volume of products, which was estimated at $ 119 billion. The United States Department of Commerce said that the Joy Biden administration’s plans did not include a revision of the sanctions imposed on Huawei by the previous government.
